ATOMIC ABSORPTION

HCL hollow cathode lamp

The hollow cathode lamp (HCL) is used as the source in atomic absorption spectroscopy and provides an electromagnetic wave of a precise length and the amplitude of very narrow band radiation, perfect for obtaining the absorption line spectrum, typical of the atoms. There can be two kinds of hollow cathode lamps: single-element or multi-element.
